The Interplay Dance Company is under the direction of former National Ballet
Company of Canada soloist Stephanie Landry and Lucie Ward, long-time Interplay dance
instructor, whose extensive dance teacher training includes the National Ballet of
Canada Teacher's Training Program. The Company provides young dance artists an
opportunity to rehearse in a professional atmosphere featuring choreography ranging from classical
and contemporary ballet to modern dance, urban jazz, classical jazz, as well as hip hop and musical theatre.
The choreography is varied and created by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.
Repertoire has included a variety of work by guest artists like Dr. Arnold Spohr,
Artistic Director Emeritus of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Robert McCollum,
resident choreographer with the George Brown Theatre School, Gregory Mitchell from the New York
production Chicago and Karen Davies Thomas, owner and Artistic Director of Interplay.
Performing credits include a fundraiser for the Banff Center with Guest Artists Prima
Ballerina Evelyn Hart and Johnny W. Chang, The Art Gallery of Ontario Family Series, a performance with
the Mississauga Symphony at the Living Arts Center, the Cosmetics and Fragrance Gala for The Bay,
Waltz Into Winter, a joint production with TDS Dance Company, Felicita and the Interplay
Youth Ensemble (now the Interplay Dance Company) in St. John New Brunswick featuring Prima Ballerina Evelyn Hart.
The Highlight of 2002-2003 was A Celebration of Dance - a tribute to Dr. Arnold Spohr, O.C., with
Evelyn Hart & Jésus Corrales from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Tara Butler &
Paul Anthony from Ballet Jörgen.
